Hello! I’m Lannie! I’m the artist behind each and every pieces of jewelries you’ll find here. My designs are created for an average women who are constantly on the move and often have to juggle a lot of things in life. I design jewelries that make a statement but not loud and distracting. These are jewelries for stylish minimalist women who are ready to face challenges and make an impact.
Jewelry making was a hobby I picked up while I was adjusting to my new role as a wife to my Michael. I dedicated hours and hours learning and practicing how to make beaded jewelries until I have developed my own style.
I took it as a business and founded Lannie’s Design in August of 2014 out of the necessity to help my mom, who was diagnosed with breast cancer on November 2012. The average Filipino like my mom, didn’t have health insurance that could cover the cost of any medical procedures she needed. My husband and I wondered how we are going to help her financially, which was very challenging for someone like me who haven’t established my own career in the United States yet.
This jewelry making business had been a huge blessing to us during those days. We used 90% of our profit from our jewelry sales to support her medication and treatments. In 2014, I opened my Etsy shop to expand my reach and to better serve my customers. I was totally nervous to get started but because I have a deep love for my family, I conquered my fear to try something that was very new to me. Sadly, my mom passed away in 2016 but she will always be part of why Lannie’s Design existed.
I want to honor her memory by making an impact in other people’s lives. Every year we choose an organization to donate a portion of our profit on top of helping a select few individuals in the Philippines that we feel led and able to help. The help we are able to send may not be a lot but every little thing counts. I share this not to brag but to let you know that the purchase that you make goes far. It’s not only helping our little family but a few more as well. It’s not just a piece of jewelry. It’s making an impact beyond the US borders.
